Signage Application

Schools which have undertaken Global Citizenship learning and have also taken primary school appropriate action on some aspects of global citizenship — and who intend to continue doing so — may apply at any stage to obtain large, durable Global Citizenship School signage.

The signage displays the school’s commitment to Global Citizenship Education. It costs €100 to cover delivery. The signage is colorful, A1 in size, and made from diabond — a tough semi-metal, long-lasting product suitable for outdoor or indoor display. All that is needed are 4 screws and a good location.

Schools organise their own ‘Signage Ceremonies’ and may invite a special guest to cut the tape or present the signage. The ceremony can take place in the school hall, GP room, or fit into the school’s event calendar. Some schools display the signage near the entrance, either inside or outside.

A suggested ‘signage ceremony’ includes students sharing what they’ve done, their future plans, and a special guest presenting the signage. Singing, dancing, poetry, or short speeches by pupils are always popular!
